Default door lock/unlock cable issue HELP

hey guys, so finally getting my sc back on the road and when i fit my passenger side door panel up to the door and hook up the lock/unlock and door handle cables there is a problem.

The lock/unlock is super tight and wont unlock when i hook it up, like you cant even manually do it with your hands. I tried messing around with the cable and i cannot figure it out for the life of me.

anybody had this issue before?

The braided cable is more than likely twisted in the cover or it's binding up in the actuator it self.

Well i can do it manually but at the only length from the cable to the plastic clip allows it doesnt reach far enough to unlock it once its all in place. so you think this could be an issue with the actuator? are the cables attached to it inside the door or built in?

There is a bracket in the door that keeps the cable straight and locked into place. It sounds like it's popped out of it.

You can lock and unlock with the key just fine though right?

only when the cable is not locked into the door itself. once i lock the cable into the spot above the handle it gets stuck and even if i put the key in there is NO SLACK in the cable to allow movement of the lock, it moves at the actuator but there is not enough slack for it to move once its locked in

Yeah

The cable for the door handle lock, is a simple push pull on the door lock actuator.

The door lock on the other hand, is a rod that goes down into the actuator.

The best bet at this point is to take your door panel off and take a look at the cable and connections.

Well comparing it to my drivers side i notice that the door lock cable is a good bit longer than the passenger, thus allowing it to freely move.

so my question is how do i adjust the slack from the cable in the actuator??? I figure theres gotta be a screw somewhere at the base which would adjust the cable length right?
