So here's the deal long story short, I bought a 1jz for my 92 sc300 but I didn't see the engine tell after i bought it. I sent my friend over to go cheak it out and he said go for it. This is coming for a guy that only knows how to work mustangs. Well the intake is pulled completely apart and the harness is cut up. And its missing odd and end sensers. Idk were to find info on it or a book something to help me along.
I bought a 1jz harness a few years back if I remember correctly it was $700+ for a good one, then you must have it extended and mod it. So good luck with that side of it.
+1 on a unfinish project for sure, intake, harness, front sump change, replace mis parts thats going to be alot....Damn man GLWB...
I hope you didnt spend more than 600 for that....try and source out parts here and supra forums and all esle fails you can go to the dealer and get the manual for the 1jz
I ended up with one of those before. Best bet i would say for you to do if i was your friend ( not a mustang guy) is try to save up for maybe a 1.5jz, your motor i think if from a chaser (front sump) and looking at it from the turbo pipes its more of a 90degree rather than a Y pipe. crack it open to see if anything is wrong. To you sir i say good luck, to finding better friends, motor will be fine.
Yes, the price please. We're just curious. I'm not a pro, but I saw the pictures and didn't think they were very pretty. You do have some options though.
I would suggest trying to sell it also and get your money back. Then buy ones that comes as a complete engine with the harness ect. Its not gonna be worth trying to get that one fixed.
