Hi guys,

Has anyone cleaned the transmission pan and filter? Is it difficult to put back on? Also, did you use a pan gasket or a sealant (Three Bond 1281) to seal it back up?

Thanks,

DJL

It’s mostly easy but reinstalling the pan is a little bit of a pain in the butt to maneuver the dip stick tube back into place. Cleaning is a cakewalk and just use a good high temp silicone sealant.

Personally, I'd stick with the 1281. Just make sure that you torque each of the 19 bolts to spec. A tube of 1281 is about $14 and should last through several pan removals.
