Default SC Transmission Pan

I am going to change my transmission solenoids and filter. Have read different things on replacing the pan. Some say to use just the gasket and some say to use sealant. Which would be best? Also what is the torque for the pan bolts. Thanks for the help.

use the FIPG/RTV silicone, thats all toyota calls for. There are a lot more stories out there about paper gaskets leaking.

IIRC the bolts are ~78in lbs

Use the orange FIPG, Toyota 1281. Part Number 00295-01281.

You want to put the sealant onto clean metal surfaces. I wiped down the surfaces with carb cleaner sprayed on a clean rag. Oil free is key here, to get the sealant to stick.

Don't mean to sound dumb I just want to do this right the first time. Do I use the rubber gasket that comes with the filter?
