I got quoted for 1400 to get my car wrapped. You can probaly save up and get a okayish paint job and learn how to color sand and buff yourself

Please give me a breakdown of how it costs you 2g's to paint a car yourself????

Ive painted a few cars and the only problem is there is a big learning curve, it takes time to get it right , trial and error, but it is nowhere near 2 grand to do it yourself.

Heres the list and its nowhere near 2 grand as said above,

color matched base coat paint---$150.00 give or take a bit

clear coat ---$100.00--probably less

thinner-reducer------$50.00--probably less

sandpaper--tape----tack cloth etc....----20$--30$

Rental of sprayer----less then 100$ or less--sprayers can be bought for cheap these days also.

Thats pretty much it unless you want to sand and buff the car , wich by the way is something u dont want to do unless u have experiance.

Its no more then $500 to do it properly, and can be done even cheaper if you are resourceful

primer, base (atleast 3-4 coats) and use expensive stuff, did a cavalier in bayside blue (skyline) the paint alone ran me 750, tape, paper, sand paper lots of wet/dry paper, clear coat (3 coats), rubbing compound for buffing either 3m or megiuers it all racks up, like i said i go all out on my jobs i can do a cheaper job but i wont be too satisfied

I'm actually thinking of wrapping mine in that same satin-esque matte look to it. I'm just scared of it being installed poorly. There is a technician I know at Toyota who has his Matrix wrapped it comic-style weird stuff, and it has a few wrinkles in it, and it's just grainy and im afraid of that. haha

Sorry but that is NOT my SC. sorry for any confusion.

"You will need two rolls at 60"h x 10 yards long. Or you can purchase a 60"h x 25yard roll. Choose a vinyl from the "big three"....Oracal, Avery, or 3M. Prices vary but you'll be looking at $500-700 for material alone. Pick up a heat gun, felt squeegee, and an exacto knife with fresh blades on hand. Best of luck and post pics when you're done." - Tabaka

If you have wrapping experience it would be dirt cheap. But like a previous member said it ran 1400~ Which probably includes labor.

I posted in that thread, and I'll post in this one Wrapping an SC isn't too difficult. Just have some patients and an entire weekend available. Keep in mind that you will have a seam somewhere on the "C" pillar. Best of luck, wholesale cost should be near $600 with shipping. The quote for $1400 with labor is actually a very good price considering the amount of hours it typically takes.

F black, white, and red. Those colors are so plain and are the "COOL" common colors. Vinyl wrap should be for awesome creative options!

Ooooh!
