A little while ago i was driving in the rain (a little fast I'll admit), and I spun around and went into the guard rail.




So I was wondering wat yall would do. Part it out? Junk it? I'll start off by saying that I dont have the money to fix it. Thanks in advance for any advice yall can give me.

if you dont have the money to fix it then you dont have any choices.

If you change your rear light and rear wheel im sure the car will drive fine, at least long enouhg to gather up some money for the repair.

Everyone is going to tell you thw car is a wreck now but the quarter panel repair can nd has been done ma ny times.

 

Well I'm starting college in a week so I wont have time or money. I've accepted that I cant save it so I'm just wondering the best way to get the most money for it.

 

Get rid of those rims.

Your rims look like they got chewed up by some kinda crazy *** dog LOL. You could learn how to buff it out and fix it urself. but like you said you start college in a week and don't have time.. depends on what you want.. trade it, part it out or fix it until it's drivable somehow.

 

Put a band aid on it son, no seriously, I hope you can store that thing in a garage somewhere and get around on a bike for a while, hate that beauty to go to waste. If I was you I'd save up till I could fix her.

kind of a noobie question, but how would you even replace the rear quarter panel? dosent it connect to the roof? and i wouldn't let that car go to a junk yard, maybe just buy like a 500 echo until you can afford to fix it? hopefully you figure it out man, sorry about your luck

 

Quarter panel damage is usually the hardest and most expensive to fix. To have it fixed properly, the damaged panel would have to be cut and new sheet metal would have to be shaped and then welded in.

Most shops will just take the easy way out and bondo the living crap out of the panel (BADD!). Either way, that's a really unfortunate accident the OP got himself into and I wish him the best of luck.

In my opinion, I would probably just cut my losses and sell the car. Automatic SC300's are getting pretty cheap and the price to fix this one properly might be just a little less than buying another one.

 

If this was back in the Philippines, or if I can bring our "body works guy" he can repair that thing in no time and less money! Shops back in Philippines can repair any part of a car with sheet metal, different sizes metal chisels, different sizes hammers and any kind of welding machine! And they didn't even go to school to learn it, all in experience! That's just how we roll...LOL

But if you don't think you can have money to repair it, then just sell it.

 

@vinSCe wow im surprised at how hard replacing this would be, wouldn't you have a seam where you got it welded together?

 

Yes, after welding on new sheet metal, you'll have welding seams that you would have to sand down and smooth out. One of the reasons why quarterpanel-type damage is such a PITA.
