Default 5W30 or 10W30?

I'll be changing my oil for the first time since I got my SC400. I've ordered the Toyota oil filter and want to know whether I should use 5W30 or 10W30 oil. Which does Toyota recommend? I haven't checked the oil cover in the engine and it might say there.

I've got 90K miles on my 92. I don't want to go to synthetic, I just want to use conventional motor oil. I'll get 6 quarts, but want to know what weight.

Also, I live in South Texas so we have no cold weather, only HOT!

A moderator may want to move this to the maintenance forum. It probably makes more sense...

Cap said 5-30 so I bought some Mobile 5000 oil and the filter is on its way. Will the 5.2 quarts be enough for my car? From what I've read, 5.1 is what it takes.

It makes no difference. The difference between 5w-30 and 10w-30 is the viscosity (thickness) of the oil when it is quite cold. If you live in warm temperatures it makes no difference at all.
