funny.. but in my opinion an automatic loses alot of power because it cant do aggressive gear shift like an manual.. what i was saying was the torque you lose, you can feel when you take off from a low gear.. not saying you physically gain more torque, just saying you gain the torque you already have but lose..Originally Posted by 88supramki
I love how he "gained" torque by doing this method.

like i said BEFORE i dont do it all the time.. BUT in the end its my opinion and my car, i do appreciate your comments tho, i just think certain ppl take things a tad bit too serious, im not telling ppl to do this or DIE, im just saying this is my way of launching WHEN i race.. which is not daily.. i always drive in "D" and sometimes i even just race in D, i do this once in a blue moon..

You're not "gaining" anything except wear and tear on your transmission.
I downshift if I am going to take a corner really fast so that I can have the RPMs in a higher band, making it more controllable. But what you're doing is something far different.
Don't forget to put it into POWER mode too. You'll gain an additional 10-15lb/torque easily.

I guess the mods didnt start that 'Rediculous Threads' section that I suggested last time LOL, otherwise this would be under it as well..
