To go aheard and rule out fuel as the issue, prime your pump. To do this, turn your car all the way to 'on' but don't crank it! Wait ~3 second then turn it off. Repeat 2 more times and try starting it again. Your coil may have just died. Though not common, it happens. Is the distributor driven by the timing belt or no?

Check your driver side coil. If good try the igniter near the driver side shock

but he's saying he's not getting spark on either side though.

Sounds to me like the igniter would be more of a culprit

Not true at all.

Have you tried jumping it in the diagnostic box? B+ to FP should turn the pump on even if the Fuel Pump ecu is bad.

I hate to say it, but no spark, and no fuel SHOULD mean = No ecu.

Does your check engine light come on when you turn the key on?

if not spark to either side check the igniter plug and wiring make sure its all good. If it is the check the test the igniter itself

Thanks for the reply! My buddy has the same year sc400 so I swapped my igniters into his car and it ran perfectly. Also swapped my ECU into his car and again his car ran perfectly with it.
Any suggestions as to where to look next?
