I was wondering if its possible to mount the front lip spoiler that was an option on the 92-94 SC's on a 1996 sc400? If so, what does it take to factory match it to pearl white? I've seen some pictures of some 92-94's with the spoiler painted and they look pretty nice and was hoping I could do that for my car. Thanks.
The spoiler isn't an option, it's standard on all '92-94 SC's, it doesn't just bolt up to the '95-96 bumper, there aren't even holes for it, but i'm sure you can get the spoiler and brackets and make something work. As far as painting it, adhesion promoter/flex agent.
Personally...I feel you might just have to get the 92-94 nose as well. I just took my valance off my 93 this week to have thje nose painted....and yes there are holes on the nose itself that the 92-94 doesnt have....but it seems some of the under splash guards are also made to be fit with the front lip.....I feel these splash guards are different in 95 and 96 models. So it may not fit as well on the 95 unless the splash guards are the ones compatible with that little lip.
Hmm...wait a second....it was standard??? I have a '92 SC and mine doesnt have one....hmmm....oh man if it was wrecked and I wasnt told.....grrrrr.....somebodys gonna regret....

I really think they look hideous on a black or burgandy colored SC. I have a few around my area and I hope they get the picture when I cruise next to them.
The lower lip spoiler...standard ONLY on 92-94 400's. I dont think they were even an option on 92-94 300's, so you are OK undefeated.
Agreed it looks ugly on non black colored cars...pay $100 and get it painted the factory color, you will notice the difference. As you can see from Tonys pic, it looks really good painted.
I think the best setup...would be the front lip spoiler and 97 and newer side skirts.
I was wondering how much it costed to get another one, mine is cracked . Or if there is any way to repair and straighten it out? Maybe just bring my car to a body shop?

New one will set you back even more than a front bumper cover...list on the little valance is $393.00 I think.
Mine is also cracked right now...and off the car...I think something like that could be fixed...others on the board disagree...but I think it could be.
I need to get my front spoiler painted the factory metallic silver colour to match the rest of the car... and for some reason, the owner in Japan also decided to black out the side sills at the same time!! Instead of looking like a clean Soarer it looks like a 4WD because it looks raised Nothing that matching paint and a lowering job couldn't fix though
BTW, I noticed that the black paint was chipping off the front spoiler, and I noticed that underneath there are metallic silver chips/marks?? Does anyone know how to remove the black crap without harming the paint underneath (it looks like splatter paint... again I don't know why the original owner would've wanted to do this!!) or should I just get the whole thing (i.e. side sills and front lip) sanded down and painted again?
Your lower spoiler sounds like it has been treated with "bodysheild" or "stonegaurd", this is a thick rubbery coating to absorb stone chips preventing them from cracking the paint finish (plasicised paint is normally applied over the top in body colour)
I had a spare spoiler covered in this stuff it was a b1tch to remove, you cant sand it as the rubber flexes and you risk damaging the smooth rubber finish if you do manage to remove the several layers of paint/undercoat/stonegaurd, you cant use paint stripper in the normal fashion as it will possibly melt the rubber spoiler, I gave in and ordered a new spoiler.
If the spoiler is in good condition consider the following, dry rub the current finish best as possible (you will never get it "flat"), apply a few coats of thick undercoat, wet rub this possibly applying several more undercoats with more wet flatting and eventually finish of with body colour but use plasticiser in the final coats.
