Question Question about LS400 brake upgrade

Hey CL! I just have a quick question on the front LS400 upgrade, I already have the rotors and calipers, but I am currently stuck, what other items are necessary to complete this job?

You may also need 8 washers to push out the caliper bolts..also not necessary but you may want to do is ...caliper paint.

Thanks for all the responses! I definitely bought some caliper paint, I will post pics when i get it all done! but Ive encountered another problem, Am i going to need longer wheel studs with the washers? i put in the rotors and it seems to interfere with the tie rod end?, i know i have to cut the dust cover a bit, but im still stuck on this step haha

I am definitely getting that six pack tommorow, and for the ss brake lines, anyone know of a good site where i can purchase these?

LS caliper bolts are shorter than SC bolts. Do ur self a favor and just pick up 4 LS bolts from the dealership. They are worth it. To hell with washers.

Fleabay sells brake lines for a good price.

I think i might have gotten a rotor that is too big, i bought it off a CL member, as i put to fit in the rotor the rotor interferes with the tie rod end, and im wondering if i have to buy the spacers to put it in before i mount the rotor? thanks for helpin me!

if u bought rotors for an '95-00 LS400, then they should slide-on with no problem, (assuming u already cut or flatten the dust sheild so the rotors fit and rotate properly) and shouldn't be hitting any tierods.

I simply took off the dust shield on mine. Also, I used 2 washers per bolt to avoid the interference.
I had no trouble with driver side caliper but I did have to trim a bit to fit the passenger side caliper.

I had this same issue with my 97. Shaving a little bit from the caliper solved the problem, but I still have the dead pedal though
