No; not unless you get some work done on the tranny itself.

The TC only affects off the line performance.

Default Chirping

How much money do you think it would take to get the tires chirping going into second

if a torque converter won't do it then nos is your best bet. but for your tranny to hit that hard it will most likely need some modification as the other guy said.

Get the valve body upgraded on the transmission - Should cost between $300-$500 depending on where you live. Find a good performance shop that works on transmissions.

You will be lighting up second and barking 3rd!

Keith, if you know a place that will do the valve body for that cheap, let me in on it. I only know of three companies that make them for the SC, and all of them are around a grand or more with the labour. When you say bark third, who's valve body are you referring to?

Swift advertises that they will do it for $599. Though my lack of knowledge for the Lexus shops might be showing here. The prices I quoted were from past experiences on Vettes and Mustangs and RX-7's.

Pettit Racing did my buddies FD and it was able beak loose the rear end in third gear for a nice bark. Though he was pushing some serious HP at the wheels it still makes you $hit in your pants as you get squirly nearing triple digits.

Level 10 also will do several diferent stages for the Lex (which I've never priced BTW), and Swift only has 2 options for the Lex. I am not aware (nor have I even looked) for other shops that will do it. I guess I forgot how much people up charge for the Lexus. I know - Supply and demand.

Sorry - Thanks Jon for pointing that out.

Most performance shops around here - you just bring them the part and they will re-work it for a few hundred bucks ( not reffering to lexus parts). Again I have never dealt w/ the Lexus transmission, so I really can't quote for that, but look in the phone book and call around for prices; or search the net. Having some place far away do it means you will be car-less for a few weeks, so I'd say try to find a place around town who can have a turn around time of a week or less. Good Luck.

Keith, thx for the info, didn't know Mo had a valve body for the SC, $599 is a great price, the L10 unit is more than that without even including labour. Toyomoto also has one, but they only sell it with installation, and I believe RMM has one as well.
