trunk springs???
4 some reason my trunk cant hold up by itself. It has the regular tail usually sold for the sc class. I went 2 the dealer to asked if my springs in the trunk were weak, old or defective and they said they couldnt tell unless i paid to have it examined and replaced even if it still couldnt hold up on its own... Can any1 tell me if wut the problem could b?
Did you add the wing lately? If you did you need different struts for the trunk.
Also...no springs...just gas strut looking pieces.
You could just buy new ones for a car with a wing from your dealer...get your credit card out thou...they are bucks.
If you do a search on this forum you will find cheaper substitutes
Hint: Searching is faster than posting a waiting.

It's just one of those things that goes with age. My 92 never stays open, so I got used to just holding it for the two seconds that it needs to be up.
There are other things I'd rather pay for, so I don't know if I'll ever get it fixed.
Good luck

I lived with it for a while too, but it is not too hard or expensive to fix- in fact, you might get away with only replacing one side, in which case it is only $25 USD (from www.rockauto.com) plus 30 minutes of your time.
MW's right- just do a search and you'll find a LOT of info on this issue.
