Default battery draining problem

alrighty, so i swapped my motor from a sc300 that was running to a new shell after i got into a accident (i still drove on it so i know the accident didnt hurt anything).

anyway, for some reason after a full charge i put the battery in and turn it to the on position and my turbo timer is only reading ~10v. so something is drawing the amps. its not my wideband because i can hold the wideband sensor when the cars off so its not on or itd heat up. its not my mapecu because i cant connect to it or see any lights on. its not my radio because there are no lights on. so i have no idea.

i know what im going to have to do, i just need ideas on where to search with my multi meter. im goin to check my mapecu, wideband and radio just because i could be wrong. ill check the alternator and the positive battery cable going to the trunk (relocated battery). i just dont know what would draw all the amps even if it was a wire shorting somewhere.. the alternator just doesnt charge!

This is what i think happened.
your old SC was 92-94 with the 92-94 SCs the alternator plug is part of the engine harness.
on your new SC which looks like 95-96 the alternator plug is part on chassis harness its in the engine bay.
look in your engine bay you should find the oval alternator connector laying there , and if you look on your alternator it has the big round plug so the fix is you need to replace your alternator with the 95+ SC300 alternator the one with the oval plug and the plug goes on the top of it not on the back.

it happened to me 3 years ago after i did the same exact swap as you lol .
let me know.

yep. this is exactly what i realized this morning.

i have the 92 alt. plugged in, and its not feeding to anything. I read somewhere i could just rewire the oval plug to the round one since there both 3 wires.

thanks for the help sir!

Yes you could rewire the plug, but i had a 95 Alternator sitting so i just decide to swap it and be done.
It was frustrating ..

HURRAY. it was the issue! thanks man

soooo lesson learned

IF you have a 92, 93 or 94 sc300 harness on your 1jzgte and your putting it in a 1995 sc300 you need to cut the oval plug on the chassie and put your round 92 plug on. the wire colors nearly exactly the same. white, black, yellow/green
