Poor mans SC400 project car
So I picked up this car for 1100 with a bad seal in the tranny. Its got 250K on it, and when it has fluid it runs like a champ. The bad seal means all that fluid just leaks out pretty quick, so its on my list of immediate fixes. I needed new tires for the stock wheels, so I found some 18s off a 350Z on Craigslist for 500 bucks, and recently picked up a prefitted, pre painted kit for 600(origin sides and rear, raceonusa front).
I bought a sc3 parts car for 350 that came with some extra stuff too. I got my money back after selling it and came out with a set of eibachs that were on it, so I swapped the suspension with the my sc4. I did the same thing with the interior since mine had nothing but terrible parts, and the parts car had a decent interior (well, if not decent, definitely better). I also bought a full set of suspension bushings from Armstrong that I could use some help putting on if any local guys wouldn't mind lending a hand and some experience in trade for car talk and beer
Overall I think for 2200 bucks I could be in a much uglier, boring car. I just wanted to get my feet wet with the SC platform, so this car taught me a ton so far. I know for sure I'll keep doing custom headlight jobs for it. A retrofit is definitely in the works to toss in a Bi-Xenon HID projector in place of the stock halogen projector, as well as in the high beam housings. Its a start at least, just wanted to share.

After I cleared the lenses on the headlights I wanted to open em up, fix one of the projectors, and paint the bezels black. I figured I'd try something new while I was in there, and mounted a couple red LEDs for the demon eye thing. Think they might have been better blue, but they do look kinda evil in the dark, lol.

One looks like a nice classy automobile. One looks like a cheap rice bucket. I am saying this out of love and constructive criticism.
FYI red low beams and blue high beams can get you pulled over for imitating the police.

It's not terrible, but get rid of the red lights, get some new tails, and the rims look very small and very sunk with that body kit. I'd much prefer stock over what you've got here.
Honestly, go back to the stock kit until you can afford rims, exhaust, and a turbo kit. Again, the rims are too small and too sunk, the exhaust doesn't fill the rear kit, making it look extremely ricey, and the enormous hole in the front bumper with the chicken wire accents looks like something you'd put on a civic. That kit was made for a turbo SC pushing out a lot more ponies than you've got. It is a good start though, and it sounds like you're going to move forward quickly with it, so I'm looking forward to future updates.

I've never done the "Demon Eye" thing. Its just two LEDs in each projector that makes them glow at night. With any light whatsoever, be it outside, or coming from the HIDs, the red isn't visible. I'm glad I did it, just for experience, but it doesn't suit this car.
Account2x just likes the look of the 97+ stock, and I do too. However, spending a bunch more cash on the OEM parts didn't make sense to me here. My OEM front, the stock 92 with black lip, was all busted up, and held together with rusty metal wire? I think it looks better with the black headlights, bodykit, and even those tail lights than the stock 97. Those comparison pics pretty much nail that down for me
I agree on the wheels now. They looked better before the kit, and now look a little sucked in up front. They're just cheap knock off wheels. Nothing about this car is something I think is top notch, or worth bragging about, but damnit if I dont feel a lot better driving it now than I did the night I picked it up!
