Default PLuggs!!!!!

Changed my plugs in my 1J today with stock motor and turbo setup and I used autolite double plat plugs. I gaped them at .32 and I am running 6 psi. Well the car idles smooth as hell and it is breaking up on the top and on full throttle. Well how much are you guys gaping at? I thinking I need to go like .24?

Lower your gap until you no longer experience break up. You should also check your coilpacks if you havent for hair line cracks. I have my plugs gapped at .23 before i had them at .28 and .25 so far theyre doing good.

take the rubber boot off the coilpacks also and check for cracks that will cause your car to break up. You can use electrical tape and tape the crap out of them for a temp fix.

otherwise, go buy the proper plugs from toyota/lexus and you wont have an issue they are pregapped propperly and with the right temperature variant.
toyota part number 90919-01180-83
theres many google searches on why platinum plugs arent for every car.

Ofcourse they may not be the issue. but my car ran like **** with anything but the above part number. since then ive never boughten anything for the car unless it was OEM

why are you at 6psi? your 1jz should be hitting like 11-12 psi. if your at 6, you likely have an intake leak or youve done it on purpose i suppose?
