Default 1JZ First Start !! :)

Ok here it goes, I'm about to finally crank the engine for the first time. I no to "prime" the engine a few times before starting it to get oil pressure, but the only problem im having right now is the stupid piping from the turbo to intercooler.

So basically, before i start the car i just want to no if it is ok to start and drive the car to my local shop without having the charge pipe hooked up to the turbo....... ANYONE??

It's fine.

The 1jz is speed density, so it doesn't rely on "Counted" air through a MAF like DSM's and such.

Yeah, don't load the engine or you may overspin the turbos. Just drive it nice and easy.

Thanks for the replies everyone, i was just trying to get a second opinion. I am actually on a single turbo setup right now. Wouldnt it be like running on an N/A setup because the charge pipe is not hooked up?

Yes, it would be like NA, but you still need to drive it really easy to avoid overspinning the turbo.
