I'm in the process of removing the SC300 emblem in the back. I've done searches and I should be using dental floss and hair dryer and there should be pins behind the emblem.
So I go and opened the trunk and reached my fingers behind there to feel for the pins. I DONT FEEL anything. It's just a smooth piece of metal back there. Where's the PIN?
I have a '97. Does '97 and above have no pins and therefore no holes in the trunk? Can someone please figure this one out for me.
and FYI, i'll be replacing it w/ a SOARER emblem and not doing the tacky SC400 switch

When I took mine off I used dental floss and it really didn't work that well so I used a popsickle stick and kite string. Use the string to get underneath every corner of every letter then theres going to be 3 pins each behind the first curve of the s, in between the the bottom of 3 and 0, and on the top right of the last 0.
Its also better to slide something in between each pin to keep the pressure on the emblem so it doesnt keep wanting to stick to the body. Oh yeah credit type cards work good in getting the emblems off too.

Well, the reason I need to know before hand is that if there are holes, I need to find ways to fill it before driving it around (also call a shop tomorrow and prepair bunch of stuff - paint job..etc).
whoa, i learn something everyday. I've done alota searches but this is the first time I've heard confirmation that there are no pins in '97 and above on rearer emblem. Great news. Thanks!
