Exclamation O/D light intermitent blinking on my dash? wtf ??

this happen to anyone else? Over a year ago, i removed my auto ***** shifter and replaced it with an aftermarket one. when i did this, i also cut the 2 white O/D cables and left them like that since i never use it anyways.

I've never seen that OD light come on my dash UNTIL TODAY.

For a couple months now, i have noticed my tranny seems to have been slipping. Didnt think it had anything to do with it...until i saw this O/D light blinking like crazy today. Anybody have any idea why that O/D light all of a sudden is doing that?

from what ive heard the od blicks when you have a tranny issue.

I think you can check the codes on your o-d light the same as u can check your engine light----te1 to e-1

your tranny may be throwing a code

good luck

When I had that O/D light flashing on my dash, It was because of a bad speed sensor...Hopefully, Your problem won't be anything major Good luck!

well the codes should help narrow it down-----hopefully it can be a simple fix and wont need to be swapped out entirely

good luck

Nnooooo!!!!!!

Okay so your symptoms are:

Sludgy gear changes
OD off light flashing
Does the car go into overdrive at all??

Does the od off light flash straight away???
Or does it start flashing when car is warm...

What engine are you running?

where is the transmision ecu located, is it mounted near the shifter mechanism?

i wanna switch my '92 tranny ecu with my other '97 tranny ecu and see if that makes a difference.

ah there's no separate ecu for the tranny, cool. I actually replaced my ecu a while back, but just wondered if there was a separate module specifically for the tranny anyway.

I just dropped my car off at Toyota service to see if they can tell me wtf is going on.
