Default whats the diffrence in Misfiring, fuelcut.boostcut?

Hi and hello

We picked up a Soarer the other day. it all seems good and we had a good run. but a few days later when we started hitting 4-5+k RPM, its start struggeling not really hard shaking like alot people seems to be experiencing.

But the engine aint getting what it needs, you can hear the exhaust poping alot, not like high sounds just veryfast poping sounds.
the car start to lack alot of power, BUT it keeps going up to higher speeds. just far away from as fast as it should get there.
is this due fuelcut?\misfiring?

cos from what ive heard, the soarer\sc really exploades afther 4-5krpms? ( its a 95 1JZ-GTE TT )

We are new to this and learning new stuff everyday so please help

And i was wondering How can you feel\hear the diffrence? between Misfiring\fuelcut\boostcut.

wow what a wall of text.
Anyways ALL help is appreciated,

Danny.

Misfiring can cause enrichment of fuel which would mean you would hear the poping sound from your exhaust as it burns up in your exhaust.

Fuelcut/Boostcut are both similar when the ECU detects boost levels over normal limits, it will cut your fuel to protect the motor. (It feels like your just hit a brick wall and the car halts) Not a fun feeling.

Sorry I dont have a 1JZ.. I hope somoene can help you out as I run 2JZGTE.

Thanks, well its clearly not a "wall" that we hit so. i guess its not a clear fuelcut from the ECU, it feels more like the injectors\pump can't deliver fast enough, or not enough at all, i guess the poping sounds we hear are closer to being inside the engine then in the exchaust it self(under the car)

We got a new pump and injectors on the way. i hope this will fix the problem, but until then our minds are open to any suggestions

Thanks again

Boost gauge as well, see if your car is boosting correctly

Fuel cut and boost cut don't actually cut fuel. It cuts the spark from the ignition. If it cut fuel it would detonate and blow your engine.

It means the fuel that being delivered isn't igniting, it's ok, I'm always learning something to bro, enjoy you're new car.

Then it sound like you're not pushing enough fuel. It's always better to run rich then lean. Put 440cc injectors from jdm 2jz, buy 255lph fuel pump, and fuel pressure regulator, set it to 37lbs. That's if it's not getting enough fuel, which it's MAP based so thats most likely the problem.

You should be running 8-10 lbs of boost I think if its stock, if the previous owner put a fuel cut defencer on it then the ecu isn't being told that the MAP sensor is near it's max ability to supply fuel. So buy manually adding fuel with the above parts it richens it up.

Loving the help, I guess we would find the fuel cut defencer in the enginebay if the older owner had it?

thanks again for all the support.
We are currently equipping the car with a hks fuel rail and 650cc's and waiting for a fuel regulator and a 265 fuel pump in the mail,

anyone got some good sparkplugs suggestions and coil by the way? We planning on going single turbo in the future so have that in mind

You need an air fuel controller..... Use the apexi neo! Or safc will work too. And no you will find the fcd in the harness closer to the ecu!

Yeah we are in need of a wideband and a fuel air controller, no doubt,

starting it now with the 650s gonna drown it without a fuel regulator, but guess we gonna try anyways, maybe the original pump ain't enough to fully drown it even with a set of 650cc's, what's the original fuelpump liter per hour? Anyone?

still grateful for all the help

oh! i know whats going on its your plugs! you are blowing out the spark; you need new plugs. i know exactly what you are talking about. your exhaust is popping like brap bap bap bap bap. like that when you boost. get these plugs.. NGK bkr7eix, i gaurantee you 99 percent that it will run perfect with these plugs and way more power and no more issue! as far as fuel pump the supra tt pump should be plenty or a walbro 255. i favor the supra tt pump tho with the 12v mod required for both. im running these plugs and its flawless. they are iridium plugs dont gap them dont check the gap dont drop them dont scratch them.. and im running the supra tt pump. get those plugs asap and let me know how happy you are!

That would mean hes dumping fuel though, wouldn't it?

Yeah it sounds exactly like your the spark plugs are fouled or bad fuel.
