Default 1998 sc300 intake??

I have looked all over the world wide web and cannot find a performance intake for my 1998 sc300. Injen makes alot of intakes, but only ones that fit up to the 1995 model. I know i can't get a cold air intake because the tranny is in the way, I'm looking for a good short ram intake. Does anyone know where i can find one?

Search "BFI" and save the money...and trust me, I wont be the only one to tell you that.

There's no real aftermarket solution or upgrade that's effective. Never should one use a short ram intake; all you are doing is sucking in hot air within the engine bay.

Like turbo said, search "BFI". It seems to be the most effective solution.

The BFI mod is the most effective intake setup. SChema is right about the short ram intakes sucking up hot air. The short ram intakes do make a cool sound while you're driving though.

Or you could buy a spectre MAF adapter and hook up a cone filter. but as Schema said you would like to isolate the hot air from it.

would a short ram intake be better or worse than the stock one? and will it add any horsepower?

short ram intakes are useless on the SC simply cause the intake is on the same side as the exhaust and you will only be pulling in hot air. Go with the BFI, its free (or cheap depending if you go with the V2 or V3), has been proven to be the best intake solution, and takes 20 minutes from start to finish.

I agree. Dont bother with the SRI. The BFI is what its all about.

ALTHOUGH, I will say, i wanna replace the pipe coming off the intake with the elbow in it because of the silencer on it. I may poke around for a pipe that works.
