Not good on engine internals when there's no filtration, dust particles will get sucked in and shorten engine life. The gains are minimal and not worth the risk to daily.

There is nothing like a single rock or acorn or something hitting a compressor wheel @ 50k rpms!

I didnt want to use it for horsepower gains. Im trying to free up some space instead of running a 4" pipe and filter. I was just wondering if anyone on here is using one on there daily driver and has no problems.

^, Try fitting your air filter directly to the turbo, that should free up some space.

In the end filter is better than no filter.

The screens will help keep large debris from getting into the compressor wheel and motor. The screen is still not enough for smaller particles such as dust.

HKS filters can be yellow, green, or purple. I think maybe blue too but I'm not sure.

I wouldn't run it without a filter especially as a daily but I know alot of people that put a simple screen over their turbo.

i live on a dirt road and all i'm running is a mesh screen. it used to be my DD until i bought another car, now i drive it about 1-2 times a week. i would put a filter but not enough clearance for it b/c of the distributor cap.
