Hi, I am not very informed about sc300 exhausts. I was wondering what would be a good custom exhaust for my sc300. I have read that it is better to go custom because you will save money and it is most likely the same or better.

Would you guys go with a brand name or make a custom exhaust?

What exhaust does your sc have?

list the parts and pricing! thanks!

I've had two different custom exhaust on my SC. I originally had a dual set of Magnaflow mufflers with a custom 2.5 inch Y-pipe and the resonators cut off. I spent around $600 for the whole setup since I had everything put on at different points in time. The Mufflers alone were close to $300 together since I went with a dual setup with custom tips. This setup was very quiet, but was deep and never got raspy when it got loud. It certainly didn't sound like the other Magnaflows I've seen on here though.

My second exhaust which is currently on my SC is a custom 2.5 straight pipe with the center cat and resonator cut off. The muffler on it is the HKS Carbon TI. I traded the Magnaflows and Y-pipe for this. They usually run about $400 for the exhaust used here on the Club Lexus. Keep in mind, this is one big single exit exhaust and not a dual like the Magnaflows. It's a very popular exhaust on the Supra TT's and does make my SC super loud like a turbo Supra.

If you want good sound, but don't have money to spend, cutting off the mufflers makes the SC's sound great. It'd probably cost you about $100 at most to do and it sounds pretty good.

for the sexiest sound, remove the stock axle back mufflers and enjoy.

I wouldn't say it's THAT loud assuming you leave the resonators and cats on. It sounds pretty good in my opinion, but if it's too loud, Magnaflows would be your best bet since they aren't super loud.

muffler delete makes it sound ferrari-esque. many who have experimented or heard it will agree.

well i am not looking for any performance right now, so i am just looking for a nice tone or sound from the car =X . I have been reading people are just removing the resinators and adding a straight pipe, that seems like a cheap option lol, or just to remove resinators and get a good muffler?

ebay mufflers, 3'' pipes from local muffler shop, 2 resonators...loved my dual setup when I had it, then went to a single with the same ebay mufflers, no resonators, but added a turbo.

no not the megan axleback..Im talking about the $50, 3'' in/out universal mufflers, you can get 2 of them for like $75 shipped. I only paid $110 for my 3'' pipes with mandrel bends from a local shop here in Houston. I have had plenty of compliments on how my car sounded, especially after the conversion to single exit with the turbo.
