Default ECT button doesn't work.

After I did my interior repaint (removed the dash and center console), now I've noticed that my ECT button doesn't work (yes it is connected, I checked). What could it be?

I don't think the switch would just quit working out of nowhere. Maybe it's wiring somewhere...

x2, trace the wiring as far as you can.

edit: as dumb as this sounds, could it be that the bulb the lights up when the ect button is down is dead?

Maybe its the wires to the cluster since you did have a minor issue with the plugs.

But even if it were wires to the cluster, the ECT PWR sign wouldn't appear but transmission shifts would change. But tranny acts the same with PWR on or off... I will test the switch tomorrow.
