Default Auto headlight feature

I searched but didn't find anything. I have a 99 sc400, drl feature. I cleaned my engine bay last week and since then my auto headlight feature does not work. headlights stay on all the time unless I turn them off. Anyone has insight on this.

The sensor on the dash can also be turned clockwise/counterclockwise to adjust sensitivity.

So here's a question. Are the head lights supposed to go off when you pull the key?

If the the auto headlight mode is on,Even pulling the key out won't turn off the headlights, The lights will not turn off until you open the door.

I always wondered what that round ball on the dash was. I didn't know about the auto headlight feature. Is this function available for a 92 SC400 If so what do I check for to make it work?

Set your light wand on "Auto", drive to a place where there's light, look for a little bubble on the left hand side of your dash and cover it and see if the headlights turn on automatically.

The round ball on the right side of dash is the outside temperature sensor, the flat sensor on the left is the headlight sensor.

uh actually no. the outside temperature sensor is a cylindrical looking thing that's in front of the radiator. that's if you have the outside temp option that was introduced in 95 i think?

D'oh! That explains it. Apparently the PO disabled the door sensor for whatever reason (I believe the stock alarm has something to do with it).

My 95 has the outside temp button and the sensor but when I press it it does nothing.
