Default Pre-Swap Help

Hello CL,

Ok so I am planning to do a 2JZ-GTE swap in a SC300. The package i'm buying comes with the motor, a V160 Tranny, a uncut wire harness, and a supra's ECU. I was wondering if this would work out, seeing as it will most likely be OBD-II and I dont want to throw a CEL for changing trannies. The other thing, was I was wondering if this turbo kit would fit:

http://www.turbo-kits.com/sc300_turbo_kits.html

It's the first turbo kit on the page (Boost Logic), made for an SC300 with a 2JZ-GE obviously, but I would want to swap to a single turbo from the twins and I was planing to go with that because it makes it easier on me because it comes with charge piping. But I know the engines are a little different. And I'm assuming i'm gonna need custom exhaust? Please let me know guys!

Thanks!
-Seth

is the 2JZ USDM? or is it an imported 2JZ from japan?

you will probably need to send the harness to dr.tweak @ phoenixtuning.com unless you want to match up all the wires to the appropriate body plugs

as for the turbo kit, you need to get one for the GTE engine

Thats the package I will be getting. Imported from Japan. I was hoping to get that to avoid any obd2 issues because it comes with an ecu and harness and I was kinda hoping that I wouldn't need to send the harness out for the same reason.

it's not the engine and ecu that's the problem. Toyota didn't put a 2jzgte in any sc300. Each harness has a few connectors that plug into the body wiring harness. these plugs are for your dash lights, fuel pump control, anti theft, etc. Unless I'm mistaken, the plugs don't match up between supra-sc300. What's nice about the 1jz is it was put in the sc300 in japan so the plugs are identical physically, but there are still just a couple pins out of place.

the charge piping from a supra kit SHOULD fit. I fit a hdi supra kit on my sc300. if you order the kit from boostlogic I'm more than certain they can tell you if the piping will fit and if not they'll try to get you the right parts

Ok, well I am taking automotive technology classes so I will try to figure out the wiring harness because I am taking the Toyota specialty program and I will learn they're electronics. That was/is going to be the most difficult part it sounds like. I assume the 2jzgte will sit on the stock sc mounts, but what about the v160 tranny? It's an automatic that I'm converting
