Cool Lapping day at High Plains Raceway

My buddy Marc (Sohconthis) and I decided to try out our cars on a road course on Friday. It was both our first times at an actual track and we had a great time! HPR is a 2.5 mile course with 15 turns and even has a corkscrew similar to the one at Laguna Seca, (A hard downward sloping left-right-left immediately after a blind hill crest) which caught me off guard one run causing me to spin out. Well here are some pics and video.

Marc's car (The mount wouldn't stay suctioned very well lol)

And here are some of the other cars there that day.

Well I bought those wheels to throw some stickier tires on and they were mismatched. Two were polished (poorly) and two were silver. So I just painted them orange since I was only using them for track/autocross.

And the headlight was just an extra I had laying around. I gutted the projector and added a little PVC reducer (3" to 2.5" i think) and cut a hole in the lens. Then I just painted it clear-ish purple to make it cool looking lol.

Awesome, good to hear you had a great time. What alignment settings did you end up with? We definitely must hit up the track once you're back in norcal.

I'll post the superhero pic later. It looks like I'm trying real hard to take a crap in it though.

For my alignment I went with -2.5º in front, -2.0º in the rear, 0 toe all around, and had them max out my caster. The car went from wanting to understeer all over the place, to having a neutral feel and even pushing toward a little oversteer. I tried to downshift during a hard corner and ended up fishtailing and almost losing it lol. Now I'm kind of rethinking putting in my rear sway bar.

And we definitely will hit one up! I leave this Friday and I'll probably get out there on Sunday. Only thing is though, is that I don't think I'll be able to bring the orange wheels with the RT615's. I'm definitely bringing one as a spare, and maybe another if I have room, so maybe I'll be able to switch out my crappy front nexens or something.
