i need one too..just curious when u swap it out does the key part go with it? ie master key wont lock the new one ?

 

I just change the lock.

The master key will not work, only the normal key works, same goes with the one with the truck/gas lock

What part usually cracks?

 

i see 2 things i want!.. =D .. climate control control lcd!! and vents!!

 

the sides of the vents usually crack. from what i understand, the reason they crack is because when the vents are hot, then all of a sudden cold ac is blowing through them, the plastic expands/cracks over time. Its one part of the SC that toyota just didn't engineer very well.

I have that same exact dash in my sc. except my vents recently started cracking on the corners

I recently found one too and offered to pull it myself, but they insisted that they had to do it for insurance reasons; told me to return in 3 or 4 hours and they'd probably have gotten around to it. I returned to find my part pulled and . . . you guessed it

 

Are you serious ? Mine is cracked a little too but thats just a little blemish. too much time on your hands lol

 

That is the first time I've ever seen a non-cracked vent. Even the super clean 30,000 mile SC's have cracked vents...
