Default Have a quick question. Disabling ignition?

Hi everybody. Im still a SC noob and I wanted to do a compression test on my car. Whats the best way to disable the ignition on our cars? thanks

Not ignition.....fuel pump. Remove the fuel pump fuse, start it couple of times until it dies, then go to work.

disconnect the spark plug wire that goes to your coil

Im going to take both fuses out

which fuse box is the fuel pump fuse in?



Just to clarify but I figure the fuse labeled "IGN" is the ignition fuse correct?

unplug the dist. Or both above will work fine. I am assuming your working on the 93 sc3- right?

EFI fuse is in the engine compartment fuse box. Electronic Fuel Injection...i think thats how it translates..

You definitely want to pull the coil wire off the distributor. Disabling the fuel pump isn't gonna do squat to eliminate the spark that's gonna be at the end of your plug wires... looking for something/one to bite while you're checking the compression. Kill the spark!

Pull the EFI fuse- no need to pull anything else. I've done this on an SC and supra for checking compression, works the same. DO NOT JUST DISABLE YOUR IGNITION. Your engine will flood with gas.
