Default Please help guys!!!!!!!!!! 93 sc400

Does anyone know where I can view a step by step video on how to properly replace the TPS(throttle position sensor)?

My car was throwing a code 41 and had all the syptoms of a poor tps so I have purchased the part myself and I cant find a decent mechanic that I can trust in my area. (liars-unqualified-dishonest-rip offs)

I have spoke with a few people that say it can be done by "do it yourselfer" but it has to be done properly and very precisely.

At this point I am almost ready to just take off the old one and put on the new one and see what happens.

Ive very tired of this problem it has been going on for two weeks now, I want to get it overwith.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!

Changing the TPS is a 5 minute job, and very simple to do provided you know how to use a multimeter and a Philips screwdriver. Simply disconnect the battery, unplug the TPS currently installed, remove 2 screws holding sensor in place, remove, install new TPS leaving screw loose, set to proper voltage/ohms, tighten screws, done.

Thanks for the advice!!!.

The only question I have is how do I measure the voltage/ohms?

Is it by rotating the tps left to right as I know that there is room to do so?

And I am going to go buy a multimeter but where do I attach it to precisely to get a reading? And what voltage /ohms am I looking for? What is it supposed to be set to?

Thanks again!!!!

Thanks again for the info.

As much as I would like to I dont think I am going to be able to properly execute the voltage/ohms part of this small job, even with the multimeter.

I just dont fully understand all of the details perfectly.

Dont these parts already come preset to proper specs?

What would happen if I just replaced the old one with the new one and made sure it was in the exact same position as the old one?

Thanks
