working on my gf's sc400 i dropped a socket down the passenger side timing cover plastic while I was changing the distributor cap and rotor. any suggestions on what i should do to retrieve it. is there any short cuts besides basically doing a timing belt on it?

maybe i should dremel the bottom plastic cover around the crank pully off?


anything?

i tried the magnet on a stick with no luck im not sure exactly where it is.

has this ever happened to anyone before ugh

you have to pull everything off and reveal the timing belt!

 

Ohhhhhh......damn.

It's like they say though, no good deed goes unpunished!

 

It's just the timing covers., no need to remove the timing belt or anything.

 

just be careful taking covers off and you should be good no harm no foul

taking off the covers is easy, just a lot of 10mm bolts.

 

what about the lower cover.
The socket "I think" fell lower than the 2 upper plastic covers on the passenger side!
