youre an idiot. go out and drive a 400hp SC and a 200whp miata then tell me the same thing. i guess by your logic driving a 2000hp tank is a better idea then an SC. id like to see the maneuvering competition between those 2

weight is the biggest enemy you have on a performance car...at least the ones that do thing other then going in a straight line.

1. resize your pictures. its annoying
2. im trying to make a point
3. follow-up to number 2...winner 2 years ago of redline time attack was a miata. over craford, ams, cobb, and scion world(chris rado scion tc)

to figure out weight reduction first ask yourself what the purpose of the car will be. if you want a comfortable luxury fast coupe then you are SOL and just add power and keep all your luxurious amenities.

if you are like me and want a nicely balanced car and dont care about comfort then pull everything. ie...AC, rear seats, front CF seats, gut interior, FRP fenders, CF hood and doors and trunk, reduce unsprung weight(aluminum Front lower control arms, and lighter rotors and brakes), corner weight the car with custom valved coilovers(KW, stance AL+/new 2 ways, or get custom 3 ways made), remove heater core, abs, trac, remove gass tank and replace with a 12gal fuel cell in the spare tire well.

use thinnest metal possible for all the piping. ie...make exhaust out of 18ga SS. use 0.040" or thinnner aluminum for IC piping.

you can get our cars in the very low 3000lb range with a lot of modifications.
