Default Lightened SC

well I know there have been threads about this before but I just wanted to share my experience. I have been pulling all kinds of stufff out of my car to lighten this bohemouth. They say stock sc300 should weight around 3700 lbs. well guess what. My diet plan has got my sc down to 3300 lbs. and I haven't even got new seats or carbon anything or taken out my sunroof!

list of mods.
1jzgte + r154
kaaz lsd
pbm coilovers
tsw hockenheim 17's with rt615 rubber

list of things removed
ac.
condenser.
ac lines
carpet
back seats
all moldings behind front seats
trunk moldings
spare tire
cd changer
rear speakers
car phone!!! haha
rear seat supports
cruise control

I figure with sparco seat and passenger seat removed, I will lose another 120 lbs. carbon hood and trunk maybe 50-60. goal will be to get under 3000. will post when I get some new seats. and I am also considering removing the sun roof.

here are the weights for each corner with me in the car. I weigh 185 lb
LF 1015
RF 945
LR 804
RR 734

total = 3498 - 185 (driver) = 3313

% front = 56.03
% rear = 43.97

% left = 52
% right = 48

cross weight % 50/50

I bought TT calipers, pads and rotors. they are on the way now. The big reason I chose these is the selection of brake pads are huge. plus I heard this "This unique Formula One inspired braking system allowed the Supra Turbo to record a 70 mph (110 km/h) -0 braking distance of 149 feet (45 m) [2], the best braking performance of any production car tested in 1997 by Car and Driver magazine. This record was finally broken in 2004 by 3 feet (0.91 m) by a Porsche Carrera GT." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Supra

cool huh. best braking

+1 I had a CF hood but it flew off after I forgot to pin it down one day then just got a stock one. Good lord!!! The factory hood weighs like 50-60 lbs more than the CF one.

Theres a production and weight list on a thread around here some where, I didnt think an SC3 weighted quite 3700. I love a good weight loss thread. I so do not need the weight and headroom loss a the sunroof, ill be glad when someone comes out with a fiberglass bolt in panel.

the sunroof with all electronics doesn't weight much there is somewhere int he forum that i posted the actual weight. When calculated the carbon fiber piece i was going to make with brackets loss would of been less than 20lbs for a lot of work and consequences.

My car is 32000 right now wtih the exahust in it and a passanger seat, getting below 3000 with driver will take a lot of coin (carbon doors) and probably removing a lot of the basic creature conforts of the car.
