Sorry for the late reply. I havent had much time to do much with a second little one around. I have been playing with CAD to figure out some motor mounts. Im close but wont know until I get someone to water jet them for me. There a 3 piece design with poly mounts as well to help with vibration.

OK long, long time since last post. I've finally got a motor that is going in the car. The 5.3 lost a rod on the engine dyno. But it did put out 587.3hp and 530.7tq before she let go (low boost 9lbs, the rod bolts gave way) . So I looked and looked and now the same set up is on an LQ9 6.0 HO. I have already changed the rod bolts for ARP's and on the same 9lbs she made 601.2hp 552.6 tq. We moved the boost up to 15lbs to see what would happen.......... 704.8hp and 646.7 tq. Im gonna try to mount the motor next week end and get the T56 in place so I can fab up a trans crossmember. But funds are running low so we'll see what happens.

I know I'm digging up an old thread here, but has there been any more progress on this endeavor? I totally understand if other priorities took precedence, but this was the only thread I could dig up regarding this subject, as it relates to the SC.

I'm considering picking up an '04 LS6 and T56 from a local Z06 owner, who's aiming for a different level of insanity. I'm mainly interested in electrical/wiring integration.

^^ Atlsupdawg, why not contact Dan at DGR fabrication? (408-674-5390). that's where I got my mount kit and I am very impressed with the quality of the mounts, they are 1 solid piece of metal.

Also, not sure if you are aware of this but that ZO6 t56 that you are considering picking up will require extensive modification in order to be used in anything other than a corvette as the tranny is mounted in the rear of those cars. you are better off going with the mn12 t56 found in the 04-06 Pontiac GTO as those are rated at a slightly higher power level and shift smoother than the older t56.

Finally, you may want to consider going with a gen 4 motor with the l92 heads that flow 300cfm stock. same as ls3 with the exception of the valvetrain.

I personally went with the iron block ly6 motor that makes 363hp 381tq stock from a 2008 suburban, 1582$ shipped to my door with a 1 year warranty through LKQ.

As far as the harness goes, you can buy a brand new standalone 4 wire harness from psi conversions for 550$ shipped. it is a 4 wire hookup for constant power, switched power, fuel pump and tach. this will make life easy, or you can always mod your own harness and merge it into the facory SC body plugs. From my research thus far, LSX wiring tends to be pretty easy with a good diagram.
