this is the most simple way i can put it. A stretched tire is a girl walking down the street in heels. A full tire is a girl walking down the street in running shoes.

stretch tires gives you a higher chance of getting your wheels damaged.

OP: I always run stretched tires, I even track my car on stretched tires. Zero problems. Just keep your tires aired up; you know, general maintenance.

What is considered stretched to you?

if you got overly stretched tires on your wheels good luck when u pop the tire going down the highway at 70mph. say good bye to your rim. i would never run too much stretch on any of my cars.. a slight stretch is ok tho. but not 225 on a 11 inch wheel. that is just plain stupid.

Yeah.

Not only are you endangering your life, but the life of women, children, dogs and cats everywhere. Not to mention it throws off your roll center and yaw moment. Heck your air fuel ratio can be affected as well in extreme situations.

If I had a penny for everytime I saw a car on the side of the road because of it's stretched tires I would have a penny.

Tires should only be stretched for monetary or clearance issues. IMO. My fronts are stretched 225 on a 18x9" rim (came with the wheels) and it irritates me every time I look at them.
