Did you check the fuse box by your driver side kick panel? It should say cig lighter or something like that.

Right, if the fuse is good, it might not be making good contact. Bend the fuse blades slightly opposite of one another. Then reinsert.

i know the cig lighter is all tied in with the climate control as well. i remember when mine wasnt working my climate control wasnt either... when i replaced the fuse both worked again.

at least i think it was related to the climate control

I have a buddy whose climate control and cig lighter aren't working. We checked the fuse and it was blown, so we replaced it and it blew right away again. Any ideas?

I bought a replacement from autozone for like 5 bucks and took it completely apart and made a frankenstein using my old housing with new parts and that solved the problem for me.

Look for any metal in the cig lighter. Something is definitely grounding out. Check the wires on both which shouldn't be hard to get to.

Try taking off the center console trim piece and check the blue plug at the back of the cig lighter.

It is sooo easy! Lift up and remove cup holder, remove shifter trim, remove a few phillips screws then lift up.
It should literally take you 15 minutes MAX to remove it, check the plug and re-install.
If the stereo has ever been changed or worked on there is a chance that it was not plugged back in...
Its really a piece of cake. Check the D-I-Y section for a full instruction list

when mine stopped working it ended up being the soldered connection on the rear of the cig lighter, theres a small strand of small gauge wire that burnt out so i had to replace it and its been all good since, hope thats not your problem but throwing it out there for yah...

Is it even connected? After a shop installed my remote start mine stopped working. Went back and they fixed it. They just never plugged the connection at the cig lighter back in. Might be as simple as that.

It sounds like it is definitely shorting out. Check and make sure that no coins or any other foreign objects have lodged themselves down in the lighter receptacle. This happened in my car once.

Remove said object and replace fuse ... problem is history.

good luck.
