how i did mines was (but not Recommended, i untangled the spring on the speedometer motor on a few tries) put the needle back on then just push it down all the way to the 0 mph mark while the power is off. i'm still a little off but only about 2 mph..

I did something similar (also not recommended), had the car on and moved the needle from 0 to 160. It was sitting quite a bit below 0 before this and now is only just a hair off... used my gps and its only 1mph off....

92 SC 400- my cruise control started flaking out surging and not functioning at high speeds, now a week later pretty much shot. have ordered a new motor. in the meantime,
my speedo got flakey and will not go above 45mph without bouncing all over. i also drove and pegged the trip counter reporting about 20 miles less than what i did.
anyone know if there is relation between speedo function and cruise control.
control is off and speedo malfunctions.
reading here sounds like there is a speedo motor i may need.

3 prong sensor on the transmission fixed cruise control and speedo needle.

What modifications are needed to fit a Second Gen GS300 gauge cluster into a First Gen GS300? I am very interested in doing this so any technical support or tips/info you can provide would be awesome. Thanks

The speedometer will never match a GPS. There is +/- 5-10% variance from the factory on any speedometer. GPS compares satellite data with movement. A speedometer converts a spinning wheel and tire to a spot on the gauge face.

We should be able to help, shoot us a chat message, facebook, email, phone call, etc.
