Somehow something is draining my battery. It just started doing this a cpl of days ago. At first it will click and not turn over. Then it will eventually very slowly turn over but it will be weak. If I tap the gas when it does this it will start up and I have to drive it down the hwy to let the alt charge up the battery again. I drove it back to my parents house about 30-45 miles and it will last for a day or two. Then back to the same thing after that. Even if i let it sit over night it will do it.
any ideas what it could be? The battery is good. Alt is good. Starter was just rebuilt. I dont have accessories other than a single din head unit that I wired up myself using Raine's DIY Thread. I dont think the security light flashing will drain the battery that bad. And I am sure my door are shut tight so the dome lights turn off.

this happened to me 2 weeks ago...my cars battery would just barely turn on the car...i metered it after driving it around and watched it go from 12.5volts down to about 10.8 and i wa slike okay dead cell in battery....bought a optima red top....havent had a problem since. i even let it sit for a week just to see and yeah car fired right up...i'd get that battery checked out or use your warranty or something...cause ur car is doing exactly what mine did...

I had the same issue last month. Bought a brand new battery from Auto Zone and it would go dead after a few days. Have to jump start it everytime. I was like damm I got a serious electrical drain. Took the battery back to Auto Zone to get it charged and tested, come to find out it was bad. Brand new 3 week old battery was bad. They replaced it and no more problems.
Check you battery and cables.

You say your battery is good, but you can do a simple free test yourself to verify whether there is a drain in the electrical system or if it's your battery. Since you say it occurs within a day or two, just disconnect your battery's negative terminal for a few days and see if the battery remains charged or if it decays while disconnected. It's foolproof.Originally Posted by 89MA70

Ok thanks for all the input. I will check battery and cables. I tested the alt myself by turnin on the car and disconnecting the battery and car stayed on.

I have a 1995 sc400 thats doing the same thing with the battery.I just finish my 1jz swap about a week ago and the battery is still draining.New optima battery, alternator and starter changed with the swap. Any ideas?
I unhooked the battery for a night and when i hook it back up it starts right up. Usually it will have a hard time if i leave the battery hooked up overnight.

I just bought a 93 Lexus SC300. I love it, however with 243,000 miles I have a couple of things i need help with. I am not sure how to post...i did navigate to here.
Ok First I seem to have a battery drain. I put a volt meter accross positive post and terminal and have over 12v with everything off and door closed ofcourse. I pulled every fuse and relay I could find at drivers kick panel and in engine compartment except the ones marked as ALT and Main. I also unplugged cd changer in trunk (it had a light on) can't find the drain. I have been removeing positive terminal where ever I go....its getting old. Please help. alexagyagos@yahoo.com

Well, sounds like you've got a 'leaker' then. You can continue with the free troubleshooting now by starting the process of elimination to identify what circuit is causing the drain. Leave the battery hooked up at night, but start pulling fuses. You can pull a bunch at once and see if the problem is in that group. Once you've identified a group, then you can eliminate which individual fuse it was within that group. Takes a few tries, but if you've got the time, it's free...which is a whole lot better that auto electrician labor rates!Originally Posted by 89MA70

Why dont you just take the battery to an autoparts store to see if its bad. I had the same exact problem. After replaceing the battery car starts right up now.
