Who can explain this one!
Super wierd issue (hard to search for):
I came out LA Fitness and my car alarm was going off. So immediately I think I rubbed through my fender harness. When I start my car the tilt doesn't work and my central locking doesn't either. It shorts on enough for me to adjust my wheel to where I need it and turn off the auto tilt then shorts out again.
So I tore into the fender harness. No damage! I had relocated it before and the wheel did not touch the harness.
Checked every fuse and random wires. Im stumped.
Here are a list of things that stopped working.
Locks
Map and dome lights
dash clock
power tilt
central locks
trunk release
drivers side headlight acts like it wants to go out
My heated mirrors, rear defrost stopped working a long time ago but I never got around to checking for it. Side markers and parking lights out too.
Im still looking but if anyone has had this happen or knows what the issue is please enlighten me!

I cant lie, I checked a lot of fuses when something similar happened to me. Turns out my cigarette lighter was messing with everything. It was really bizzare. My symptoms were no climate reading, only high worked with AC/heat, and a few other mics things I dont remember....It was the fuse that was in the lighter. had to replace the whole thing.

I will look into both of those. Also noteworthy. My passenger headlight comes on with my highbeams. I have 6k HID's and the drivers side sometimes will not switch on.

check the wires going from the body of the car to the door. My Mr2 had most of those symptoms once. One of the wires was broken due to years of opening and closing the door. Just a thought.

What was the last thing you did to the car electrical wise. How long ago did you relocate your harness. Did you remove any of your grounds and then reconnect. Maybe check your grounds. May be dirty.

The last thing I did electrical was relocate the harness almost a year ago. One of my bulbs was blown and I removed one to put it in another socket to make sure it was blown but that was it.
Are the lowbeams supposed to come on when you flash your high beams??
I will check the door wiring. the rubber boot is in tact though. Do any of the dome lights/car alarm/tilt steering wires run through there?

my low beams turn on when I flash the highs..as for the HID only turning on one light at a time, never had that problem.
seeing as how everything that is being effected is linked to the body harness, I would say the most logical thing to do other than jump from one location to another and play the guessing game, would be to start at the beginning of the body harness and start checking wires/fuses/relays..dont get me wrong, i know that is a lot of work to do, but it will eventually reveal the solution and possibly the cause and give the chance to actually fix the problem and not just give a simple remedy.

OK both headlights come on now with the high beam as normal I guess. Been over the body harness twice. Nothing yet. Still looking. Checked all fuses twice. Anyone have tips on removing the fuse panel on near the clutch? I want to check into what zhills suggested.
Also I do have some water under the carpet on the drivers side. Not alot. Theres been alot of snow and rain so Im thinking its just me getting in with wet shoes/snow. Dont see anything that could be affected.
