i just installed the 98+ sc400 pumpkin with the 3.26 ratio in my sc300 5spd
i got everything bolted up except the axle shafts and driveshaft, both of the pumpkins had the the 3 hole flange where the the driveshaft bolts up so i assumed they were indentical, i was wrong, the 98sc400 pumpkins flange was about 1/2 inch longer so the bolts would not line up, its off just a little, my question is what does it consist of to swap the flange off my old diff? can i swap them with the diff still in the car? does anybody know the the socket size for the companion flange bolt? any input aprecciated thanks in advance

 

check drift motion for aluminum spacer that goes between the Diff and the driveshaft, and tell or give him the hole spacing and they'll get it made for ya. it only costs about 140 but much better than the stock rubber piece.

 

It's a 35mm socket, and yes u can do it while it's on the car . GL
Is you SC turbo ? if not it will be slow as hell haha....

I did a diff swap once with hand tools... never again

 

my sc is still na and is already slow so i dont care and rather get the better gas miliege, i should be boosted within the next few months once i sell my truck. I think this is going to be a great mod once im boosted, because with the stock 4.08, the gears are just too short, good to know now that i need a 35mm socket, im going to use an impact for sure

 

Even with the 1JZ my car is slow on the take off, but it perfect on the HWY.
I like it alot since i can cruise on 4th gear with the 3.26 haha.
Make sure you don't over torque the flange bolt or it will start rubbing on the diff and making all kinds of noise GL.

i just put in an sc400 diff into my sc300. bolted right up with no issues. all the hardware is the same minus the gearring.

 

hahaha just finished putting mine in with hand tools and 12" floor jack the axle bolts were the hardest, and i was really worried about stripping them.

 

What year SC4 diff did you install in your Car ?
The 97 + SC flange on the DS and Diff are little longer maybe about an inch.
So everything will bolt up except the DS, you will need to replace the Flange and i bolt right up.
The main thing is axle bolts and seperating the axles from the Diff.
