Just a quick question, does anybody know or have experienced a 1-2 sec vibration when the auto transmission on the 1992 SC400 V8 falls back to 3rd from 4th??

It only happens going up hills, it won't do it when you floor it and it drops back a gear, particularly on a straight.

Other than that it drives beautifully smooth.

that's right in the engine & tranmission section of this board. Oh well. click the link. Your probem most likely is burt ATF. Enjoy, and keep us posted as to the results of the fluid change.
