Transmission Fluid Question
All,
Quick question for everyone! I have 2008 ISF with just about 40k miles. I'm trying to decide if I should change the transmission fluid. I've gone to 2 different dealerships, one said no need at that mileage and the other said to change it because its based on time or miles. Any suggestions? Also, no issues with the transmission now, no slips and still runs amazing.
Thank you!

Don't do it. It will still flare afterwards. If its only at 40 and it's not flaring it's good. I've had mine leveled 3 times and it will still flare rarely.

Not complicated, just tedious. You have to follow the instructions to the letter.

Now someone please correct me if I'm wrong here, but we should probably be specific when it comes to what people are perceiving as "flare:"
- If the trans is cold, it can act funky just from being cold.
- If the trans is warm and takes a good deal of rpm / time to make it from second to third, this is a "flare" and is not normal.
- If the trans is warm and the car is in sport mode & entering / exiting a turn, lingering in second gear is normal as sport mode gives the transmission the idea of being at the track & taking a turn.
