I have already searched but ill explain my problem. i have a 94 sc400 and my heat only works at certain times. the heater control valve was just replaced less than 10k ago, but i noticed when i was warming up my car my radiator hoses werent getting hot, even when the car temperature was in the middle. The coolant level is fine, no coolant leaks, what could be causing this? both hoses were cold.
air pocket in the cooling system is the most likely culprit if the hoses are staying cold....air trapped by the thermostate can make it take forever to open...trying rebleeding the system, or having a shop with a vacuum filler refill your coolant.
i drained and refilled my coolant about 8 months ago and i put a funnel on my radiator and ran my car to get rid of the air bubbles but maybe i didnt get them all out. is there another way to bleed the system that i dont know about?
ya i had the car jacked up in the front, but i remember i did that and then about 4 months later i checked the resevoir and it was low so i added more coolant
Heater Control Valave Dosen't Ness have to be replaced - You can Actually Reverse the Lines and Heat will work Fine....then just Reverse back ones Winters over to save some coin.
Sounds like proper Bleed is needed though,...or the Heater valve is Dead again.
HOPEFULLY you DIdn't pay for a Brand new $400 valve??
