Default 2 quick questions

1.) I have a nasty problem with water getting into one of my headlights and it just sits there all day everyday and will eventually turn it yellow inside out.... how can I prevent this the easier/most efficieft way?

2.) Just was going to the store on about 1/4 tank of gas or less (almost empty) and my car began to bog out and jump when I pressed the gas until for a couple minutes then it warmed up and drove fine... I just bought this car last week and the guy said it might be the fuel pump... you think im fine driving it as it is as long as I allow at least a half a tank of gas in the car at all times? First time happening to me since i bought it but it does also want to slowly die at a idle once in awhile.

1.) you will have to open the headlight and clean the inside, then reseal with some good silicone. here for a DIY: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...finishing.html

2.) 12v fuel mod sounds like a good place to start with what your describing. here again for the DIY: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...tures-faq.html

hope that helps out

If you're going to get a new fuel pump, you might as well upgrade it. I heard the Denso 255 fuel pumps for the Supra TT are good, especially if you are looking to make more power later on..

cmon man, these guys on the forum gave you golden advice on how to fix a known problem. then you asked your mechanic if you should bypass an ecu for free rather than buy a fuel pump ($) and pay to install it (more $). were you really expecting him to agree with information you found on your own that only takes away business from them.

fuel pumps die much less frequently than the ecu. Do the mod, its free, and if it doesnt clear it up get a pump. buy a stock denso or you can go aftermarket with a walboro or other brand. be aware that aftermarket pumps are typically louder than their stock counterparts. I can hear my walboro from inside the cabin whereas I never noticed my stock pump. I have a stock pump laying in my collection of parts box, and after 130k it looks pristine still, those things are quite reliable unless you raise the fuel pressure.

your mechanic is a moron, enough said..the links I posted above have been PROVEN time and time again to work and solve issues. Go to Toyota and pick up the factory fuel pump for a MK4 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo, do the 12v fuel mod, stay away from ebay, and from used fuel pumps...

do it right, and you'll only have to do it once
