Question Water Pump replacement?

As I was working on the car (that has been sitting for over 6 months), I noticed what appears to be leaked coolant fluid that came from the water pump. Does anyone know what this symptom means as far as potential problems with the car? Should I replace the water pump and flush out the motor + radiator with fresh coolant?

I'd replace the water pump. In just about any car, the water pump is a maintenance item that will need to be changed in the car's lifetime.

Good lord. it almost looks like bird poop in there. If i were you, i would replace the waterpump/thermostat. While you're in there might as well do the timing belt too

That's really odd you have that much corrosion going on that it's seeping out from everywhere around the pump. It looks like you used tap water that had a s h i t ton of minerals in it to fill it up.

Use distilled water and toyota red coolant and water wetter.

yeah that crap all over things looks horrible..

Water Pump is not a prob. Just take off stuff like you did when doing the Timing Belt
the WP has like 11bolts/nuts on it other than that you remove the Alt to get to the water neck.

You should be able to bust it out in an afternoon

If the engine overheated or was getting pretty warm before the car sat for 6 months.
Change the water pump.

May have been slightly warped when you tightened the bolts when installing.
Change water pump.

If it leaked out while it was sitting, the waterpump was not sealed properly
Remove the water pump and reseal with a red goo sealant.

It's a 94 engine, so the water pump was the original one. The replacement process has begun, thanks for everyone's help.

It's a weep/vent hole.
