Default Brake light keeps going on and off

I just bought a '94 SC400 and drove it 700 miles back home, it's running fine. The Brake Light indicator keeps on turning on, then off, then on again. There's no pattern to it and it's mostly on. The parking break is not engaged and it does shut down the cruise control (whenever I'm able to set it). Any ideas?

If your braking feels fine then do this.

The hand brake switch can cause the ligh to go on and off if the switch is loose or bad.
Remove center console and check for the connector that is hooked up by the hand brake. Unplug it and check to see if it still goes on and off.

Brake fluid was half way between the MIN and MAX level. After topping off brake light went away...
