Hi Em;
I choose the Becker Mexico Pro after a lot of searching, it fits perfect in the existing aperture (actually about 2mm too wide but it dont show), it looks 90's retro like the rest of the console, Same semi-matt black finish as the air-con, it has fantastic high spec; single CD/Tuner, RDS, Radio Text, Traffic Data, 12 Disc changer or Mini Disc changer options, F/R & Bass pre-outs with seperate bass controller, Face-off front panel, Security Coded, etc, etc.
The sales guy said it had Red/Amber/Green display he was close, it dont do GREEN hence I really need to change the air-con display to amber.

I'm not sure if the coloring is controlled by color sleeves, but if so how do you access them? I'd like a white backlight if it's at all possible. Don't the newer SCs have this white display?? London Bill, here's an idea. Find an SCx00 owner in the States who isn't using their stock stereo system, and buy that off them, or swap color sleeves with them. It's better than buying a whole new one and worrying about internal defects. That deck sure would look sweet in my console
. I might consider swapping to a less flash deck pretty soon. Why is it that you can't seem to find a decent quality aftermarket deck without suffering a bunch of stupid flashy colorful lights, animations, and servo motors?

You still need to get the kit painted and installed so u're still going to pay over $1000 bucks. you should jus do a group buy for autocouture kit IMO

I have been a technofreak for a long time but in this case form overrides function, some guys like the flashing multi coloured displays (with or without dolphins & motorised fronts), I wanted something that would look the part, not a space invader game.
I have heard that some of the console lighting is achieved by coloured sleeves over the bulbs so it looks like a stripdown is in order, ever seen those tiny Kenwood half DIN equalisers with 5 sliders and amp balance, we needed one to fit in a "pop-up" from the ashtray but the illumination & LED's where orange and we needed green so we spent about 12hrs stripping it down and repainted the bulbs with a felt tip marker, worked a treat.

-London Bill... I like the looks of your aftermarket deck and all and once you go all amber even better... and ya all I have to say is ... I don't have the DOLPHINS on there!
On my climate control it had blue sleeves on the lights , and I replaced the lights with green sleeves. I dont know if the amber light is caused by sleeves, but I bet they are.
