^^^ Dude, the thing weighs a freakin ton! anyways im going to go with the fiberglass setup that uses the whole spare cavity as the sub box. Its going to pretty permenent since im using liquid nails and tap screws to keep the enclosure from rattaling all over the place! construction begins saturday and i will post some pics asap of the progress.

so your saying that 3 MTX subs, with amps, plus the MDF/fiberglass/liquid nails weighs less than your spare tire?

either those are some really light weight subs/materials, or you have a spare for a K5 Blazer in your trunk..I would weight everything before making it permanent..but I have a feeling that the spare will come out lighter in the end, and keep you from having to wait for AAA while chillin' in the hood with your Glock..

There are numerous people who don't run spares, me included. With that being said, I think we have established the fact that the spare is not going in. Anyway, please take recall good pics because I have been trying to figure out the best fitment for subs for the longest. Is there enough internal volume for three subs?

The massive hole and what i might put in... please excuse the silicone, i shot the pics before it cured. on a side note the carpet fits over the top just fine, wont even see them, until you crank it up.

Are the magnets touching the bottom of the hole?

not bad but what if you gotta put something in the trunk because you don't want to ruin the leather in the backseats or doesn't fit in the backseat like a set of golf clubs? or something of that size

Can you post more pics of the box? looks like a nice upgrade for my stock speaker setup! ( the single sub in the back has ceased to function, lol)

wow, thats not half bad. I give you some props for that.
I have a 10" kicker on the rear deck with a 1200 watt amp (turned way down).
While it is a little less loud than my 2 x 12" subs in the trunk I used to have (with stock sub removed as a bypass hole to the cabin), for people considering sub options 1 in the cabin is like 2 in the trunk.

If you haven't done it yet, try removing the stock sub completely and you will get much better sound in the main cabin from the subs in the trunk.

Haha the magnets have plenty of clearence. 3", To everyone concerned, these replace the spare, they DO NOT take up any trunk space. When i put the carpet back in i can hook up my twin 12" sub box on top, double the bass and no one knows where its coming from!
I will post pics of the final setup when i get time...
