I hate cars too!! Seat experts please help.
I am hoping that someone here will be able to pull me off a mirical, my passanger seat has been broken for a while now and I have my car at the dealership right now getting it fixed. They fulled the chair out and examined it, the left track is sticking and they said something about a rod that keeps popping out. They tried to fix it but said it is unfixable and I will need to buy a whole bottom assembly (tracks, motor etc) and those cost $900 new and he found me one used for $550. I am going there today and I will take some pictures, I am going to decide what to do on monday, but between labor and parts I am looking at a lot for a chair. Any insite would be really helpful, I am sorry I didn't come up with more detail I wll make sure to get more after visiting the dealership. Could they be trying to rip me off? I got my window done there as well, and I had to buy a whole new assembly (no motor) for like 300. Everything on the chair is fine except for that little rod or something. Thanks everyone.

first off, having a seat that doens't move wouldn't make me hate my car... much less because my car is an SC and the seat motor drive rod is broken (only one side of my seat moves) I've been too buisy to get a new seat.
About your question.
you could find someone to swap both your seats for Supra Seats. They're a bit more narrow, but if you're a skinny guy like me (6'2" 155 Lbs) that that's alright. You don't need to be as skinny, it's just that I think the SC being a luxury car, is designed for people who eat well. (hint hint) So you could get supra seats for supra cheap.
www.car-part.com is a site that has an invintory of used parts from salvage yards all over the country, if you want to stick with the stock SC seats.

Oh I still love my SC, don't get me wrong, but I am a little depressed that it will cost me close to a thosand to fix such a minor problem. There aren't any pictures really to post, I went to the dealer and basically I don't even think the rod is broken, I think there is just something blocking the seat from moving, but I am not sure, I am getting them to take apart the left track to see, and if worse comes to worse I will just order the new assembly. Maybe I will see if I can find a left track instead of having to buy the whole assembly anyone know where I could start?

well check www.car-part.com I think they invintory the seat motor alone. Also I was told to check the track for quarters -- they can get stuck on the track preventing the seat from moving.
