The Soarer GT is the exact same as the SC400 (minus JDM digital gauge cluster and rear window wiper)

The Soarer LTD has TEMS airbag suspension, EMV TV, and weighs 110lbs more than the GT.

The Soarer 4WS has active suspension, four wheel steering, GPS programmed for Japan, reversing camera, TV, and weighs 310lbs more than the GT. The turning radius is 1 foot shorter than the GT and LTD and better mileage.

All have the same exact drivetrain and power output, but the JDM models are tuned for 100 octane gas.

I emailed the guy about how fast they have his engine turning, Leo at WR mentioned something about raised revlimit but I never wanted to try it for fear that it would damage the motor. But, it sounds like it's working ok for this guy.

Is that the same as 1/4 mile? If so, I'm not a believer. I'd have to see it to believe it.

Consider that a GS400 with 230+rwhp clocks the 1/4 in around 14.4-14.8----and that's with an optimally geared 5 spd auto.

The MiNes mods are a masterpiece. New board fitted to ECU to replace one of
the old chips. Base timing modified, speed cut lifted, shift patterns
revised, fuel curve modified,7500 RPM new limit set. Very nice to drive and
smooth as silk. Totally different car through the mid range especially.

I know that Leo can adjust shifting points and all.. I will ask him. Maybe this could be an American reality too!

Hey gang,

In a single word. No

In two words. No way

In three words. No f$#^ing way

End of story. Do the hp calcs for a 3800 lb car to run 13.36 in the 1/4 mile. Not happening in this lifetime on that car.

Your car weighs about 3800 pounds and has a 1/4 mile time of 13.36 seconds. That calculates to approximately 314.96 HP at the wheels

I guess you'd get there with basic upgrades and NOS, or if you had that kind of chip upgrade and launched it on slicks that's not too unrealistic. 98 octane AU gas, JDM chip with a revlimit that keeps the motor in the sweet spot through the whole run.. I could see that.

the weight to HP calculation is correct. But there is something to be said about the delivery of power. From what I understand the Torque converter is not a power adder but just a more efficient way of delivering torque to the wheels therefore knocking off close to 1 second on 1/4 mile. It seems it may be possible to do it. The 1992 SC400 does 1/4 mile in 15.6 I think with the torque converter, straight-through dual cat back and fully tweeked ECU you can get the car to do 14.0 1/4 mile. I have heard EU and AU guys adding 10KW @ the wheels with just an catback system, and 5KW @ the wheels with their free BFI(using stock airbox) mod. With all the above I think it is possible to reach those numbers. Maybe he left out the BFI and the Torque converter

Its BS to me until some video is posted. NOS would get you there, though...

He's got Intake/Exhaust and ECU!!!!!!!!!!!!----On a heavier car!

Just look at successful ECU upgrades on this like the Swift Racing ECU... 30-40 hp max at the wheels with intake ECU and exhaust??? Even with 30-40 extra, the Swift equipped GS4's aren't exactly blinding fast. Their claims for 1/4 mile times were off a bit. .5 seconds off would be about the MOST anyone could hope for.

Unfortunately, this guy is in Australia. I'd bet him $100 that he can't even beat our GS400 in the 1/4....

15.0 + audio equipment and other weight=15.5
Engine upgrades -.5 to 1.0

14.5 best case.

BTW----Revving to 7500rpm is going to make a little bit more power, but not that much without changing the cams to increase the lift. The V-8 is several hundred rpm past its power peak at the stock redline, let alone 7500rpm.

VSsc400, no way an SC4 will run 14.0 with exhaust, ECU, and converter, maybe in the Bizarro dimension. I concur with you guys, he's gotta be sprayin' if he's turning 13.30's. It can be done, ask Todd Matsubura how quick his SC4 went on the hit, with a standalone and a big slick.
